New releases by Max Graham feat. Neev Kennedy, Nash & Pepper feat. Rogue Raven, David Forbes, Blake Jarrell and Chris Melton.

Max Graham feat. Neev Kennedy – Sun In The Winter
Max Graham is back! Not that the Canadian producer was ever gone, but it did take him 1,5 years to come up with a new production. Time well spent though, cause the result is stunning. Years after ‘I Know You’re Gone’, Max caught the same sparkle and produced its follow-up, ‘Sun In The Winter’. Mister ‘Owner Of a Lonely Heart’ is in a trancy state of mind.
Some tracks just outshine the rest. ‘Sun In The Winter’ is one of them. From the very first listen, you’re hooked. Hooked and enamoured by its intricate vocals, dreamy piano and strong melodic twist of progressive and trancy delight. A pure bliss gem with vocals by Irish singer Neev Kennedy, already featured on Markus Schulz’ ‘Las Vegas ‘10’ compilation. Max is back, and in shape.
German producer Alex M.O.R.P.H sped things up in his BPM-eating trance remix, awing with its outstanding break. But Alex isn’t the only one that takes you in, Dutch producer Estiva knows all to well how to handle an anthem this size. His prog-housy remix with Coldharbour-fit bigroom stabs is nothing but straight A-quality.

2. Sun In The Winter (Alex M.O.R.P.H. Remix)
3. Sun In The Winter (Estiva Remix)

Nash & Pepper feat. Rogue Raven – Am I Wrong
Caution and handle with care, for this EP’s fragile. Heartrending vocals and soulful progressive beats battle for love on a new track by Belgian producer duo Nash & Pepper. Guided by a pair of stunning vocals by Rouge Raven and led by ingenious piano play, ‘Am I Wrong’ lands itself on the S107 label, hitting in deep. ‘Am I Wrong’ is an emotional ride into the dark side of love, translated into a danceable original and quieting acoustic version.
Mike Foyle, a true master when it comes to the drama-piano combo, gave ‘Am I Wrong’ all the right things in his remix. A heavy loaded atmosphere, distorted big room synths, deep bass and plenty of space for the vocals and piano to sparkle.

1. Am I Wrong (Original Mix)
2. Am I Wrong (Mike Foyle Remix)
3. Am I Wrong (Acoustic Version)
4. Am I Wrong (Radio Edit)

David Forbes – Katsu
An open mind, broad horizon and pair of musical ears. Three – or actually four – necessities to produce the way David Forbes does. The Glasgow based producer/DJ has been at it for more than 15 years, dealing with sounds that range from chunky techno to deeper trance. In 2009, he released a proggy vocal track on S107, rocked the tech-house crowd with an EP on 68 Recordings and joined forces with William Daniel on a tech-trancy ‘Emotion’ and ‘Illuminatus’ on Captivating. In search of diversity? Let David Forbes be your guide!
On Ava Recordings, David hands in a proggy kissed trancer, ‘Katsu’. Rippling vocal waves, a solid melodic theme, refined electric edges in the break…Mr. Forbes controls it all. This delicate crossover of trance and progressive was remixed by Estonian producer Rene Pais, aka DNS Project, to suit big room purposes and give ‘Katsu’ that little extra push to dancefloor mayhem.

Blake Jarrell – Galapagos & Patagonia
There can never be too much progressive house, especially if it finds its origin in Blake Jarrell’s studio. The Chicago based producer/DJ has his sight fixed on a broad and open-minded horizon, looking back on the release of a pure housy ‘I Think I’m In Love’ under his Weightless alias and touching the techy side of EDM with ‘Hosoi’.
Travelling the globe to please the crowd is part of Blake’s everyday life. There isn’t many places he hasn’t spread his sound yet. Inspired by his travels, he names the follow up EP to ‘Borocay’ and ‘Manila’ after another two beautiful destinations. ‘Galapagos’, an ode to the Ecuadorian island-group, is a light-hearted feel-good track with catchy progressive stabs. Same goes for ‘Patagonia’, but the difference is in the more distortive, cheeky sound. Two keepers!
B.O.N.G., the alias of Argentinean producer Juan Carlos Escobar Villalba, reworked ‘Galapagos’ into a break-beatish, easygoing remix of progressive delicacy.

1. Galapagos (Original Mix)
2. Galapagos (B.O.N.G. Remix)
3. Patagonia (Original Mix)

Chris Melton – Minttu
Though hinting to the supreme flavour of Finland’s well-known peppermint liqueur, which makes a fine combo with hot chocolate, this one tastes best on the rocks. ‘Minttu’ is a product of UK producer Chris Melton, a new and talented player in the trance game. ‘Minttu’ fuses progressive and uplifting trance, with a mystical vocal piece and cheeky boom-bass. There’s no sipping when it comes to ‘Minttu’, it’s a sure-shot of trance pleasure.
Swedish producer Onova and Romanian producer Anhken both experienced the side-effects of a nice pour of ‘Minttu’. Onova kept loyal to his uplifting trance, while Anhken finished ‘Minttu’ with a killer proggy sound.

Armada Music is counting down the days till the end of March – when we head over to sunny Miami to be part of the annual Winter Music Conference. Business and pleasure meet at the countless high end clubs, as new talent and some of the biggest DJ’s in the world get the chance to show what they got.
